Votes For Women Wanted Suffragette Tea Towel

This Votes for Women Wanted Suffragette Tea Towel is a stunning design, from a 1909 poster advertising “Votes for Women”, the official weekly newspaper of the Women’s Social and Political Union until 1912. The poster was designed by Hilda Dallas, a WSPU member and a student at the Slade School of Art from 1910 to 1911.

Hilda Dallas was a member of the Suffrage Atelier, which was formed in 1909 to encourage artists to promote ‘the enfranchisement of women, by means of pictorial publication’. Its activities also included training non-professional artists in printing techniques.

Why not ensure that the next person drying up the dishes in your house understands what the incredible women of the suffragette movement went through, and achieved for us all!

Half Panama unbleached cotton (heavy weight, textured finish). Stitched on all four sides. Includes hanging loop. Measures approximately 48 x 70cm. Machine wash at 40 degrees max.
