Mabon The Harvest Goddess Art Gift Card by Julie Collet
Julie Collet, originally from Britanny, France, has spent time living in Bolivia caring for rescued pumas, where she first felt what “Wild” meant! She discovered her artistic talents later when she decided to leave the jungle to travel to Glastonbury last October and commit to start training as a Priestess of the Goddess, something she felt was very important that she had to do.
She painted her amazing interpretation of Dahud, and has painted her way through the festivals of the wheel of the year through the symbolism of a silhouette, embodying the Goddess and the shadow of every woman – naked, raw… forever Wid.
“The “shadow woman” has become a kind of signature now. She is an image that speaks to me for many reasons. First because as the Goddess, She has no real identity. As priestess, or woman, she is all of us. She has no face, her skin and hair have no colour. She is just “woman” and carries the feminine essence. Finally, I work a lot with the shadow side of things. I believe our gifts always start by being hidden in our shadow, and only if we are brave enough to face the “Dark Goddess”, She will reveal the amazing treasures she was hiding. To me, this shadow woman represents the primal essence and strength of woman and Goddess.”
The titles of the paintings from this Wheel of the Year series have been taken from Kathy Jones’s book “Priestess of Avalon, Priestess of the Goddess”
