‘Feminism is the radical notion that women are human beings’ Timbergram

Celebrate the fantastic definition of feminism by Marie Shear with this Timbergram!

“Feminism is the radical notion that women are human beings” is a popular quotation to define feminism, and can be seen printed on fridge magnets, t-shirts, and badges.  However, it is also the most frequently mis-attributed feminist quote.

Most of the time,  this quote is attributed to Cheris Kramarae and Paula Treichler, the authors of A Feminist Dictionary.  However, this popular quotation about the subject of feminism first appeared in the feminist newsletter New Directions for Women, summer 1986 in an article written Marie Shear, a feminist writer and editor.

Marie signs her emails with her name and the notation “widely unheralded writer & editor.”  With this Timbergram we can redress this and give Marie the credit she deserves for this wonderful quote!

A Timbergram is a delightfully distinctive and stylish wooden postcard.  We have created a range of Timbergrams, which are the same size as a standard postcard, and are a great and different way to send a message, that will last.  You can write on the reverse of the Timbergram card with a biro pen, stamp and post as standard mail!

In our range we have beautiful images and inspirational quotes, which you can post to a friend, or for you to place upon your altar space.

The Timbergram was inspired by the original wooden postcards of the early 1900′s. More than just a greetings card, the Timbergram is very much a gift to treasure.  Made from sustainably sourced wood from forests in Eastern Europe. All timber used is FSC certified.

Produced in the UK. Made of 3mm birch, the wood cards are screen-printed.  The producers of the Timbergrams  work closely with the charity Tree Aid, to help plant trees in Africa.

We have are adding to our designs of Timbergrams, please keep checking here to see what new creativity we have for you!
