Beautiful little Silbury Hill Goddess of abundance.

Silbury Hill Goddess of Abundance by Jane Rickards

Small and beautiful – Silbury Goddess of Abundance, created by artist Jane Rickards.

Silbury Hill is the belly of the Mother Goddess in the ancient Wiltshire landscape where we find the pathways of our ancestors, ceremonial circles of stones at Avebury and Gateway to the otherworld at West Kennet Long Barrow.

This little Goddess comes in her own purple organza bag and is the perfect gift or sculpture for your altar, especially for a travel altar. She is 5cm/2 inches high, made of fine cast resin and hand finished.

Jane speaks about her work :-

“ The seductive rolling chalk landscape of the Wiltshire Downs in southern England has long inspired the human psyche towards the feminine and, being a native, I am no exception. And, if that weren’t enough, embedded within the chalk lie the white amorphous forms of the once molten flint, cooled to form a glassy black core,  some intensely female and animalistic and irresistible to Neoliths and present day humans alike. Combined with years of study within the life drawing room this all somehow mixes to produce the work I do.

I use a range of stone, marble, alabaster, steel, bronze and jesmonite for both corporate and private clients, and enjoy turning the small into tall.

I am a slow worker and have found, after the initial flash of inspiration, come the deepening insights, through time, which are often surprising and wonderfully confirming.

My intention for any piece is that it be an attempt to convey a sense of harmony to its place.”
