Mother Goddess Sculpture by Jane Rickards

This beautiful  Mother Sculpture is created by the talented artist Jane Rickards.

Our beautiful Mother, in the fullness of your body we find the creative potential in all of life. We celebrate our ability as women to gestate and birth our ideas into form, to honour the life giving power of the sacred springs and wells in Avalon, the spiralling life giving power of the waters of the mothers womb and our connection through time and space to our ancestral Motherline.

This wonderful , unique sculpture is designed by Jane and cast in a special plaster, it will make an beautiful centrepiece on your altar. She is quite heavy so we won’t be able to post her to you, she is for collection only from our shop in Glastonbury .

She costs £250.00. Jane is a very unique Goddess loving artist living near Avebury and is the creatrix of the original ‘Silbury Hill’ Goddess sculpture.

Jane speaks of her work :-

“ The seductive rolling chalk landscape of the Wiltshire Downs in southern England has long inspired the human psyche towards the feminine and, being a native, I am no exception. And, if that weren’t enough, embedded within the chalk lie the white amorphous forms of the once molten flint, cooled to form a glassy black core,  some intensely female and animalistic and irresistible to Neoliths and present day humans alike. Combined with years of study within the life drawing room this all somehow mixes to produce the work I do.

I use a range of stone, marble, alabaster, steel, bronze and jesmonite for both corporate and private clients, and enjoy turning the small into tall.

I am a slow worker and have found, after the initial flash of inspiration, come the deepening insights, through time, which are often surprising and wonderfully confirming.

My intention for any piece is that it be an attempt to convey a sense of harmony to its place.”
